Along with Big K.R.I.T., Kendrick Lamar is probably one of the two most exciting voices in rap music right now. The Compton, CA rapper’s 2011 release, Section.80, was a sheer masterpiece. From what I could tell, that record held dearly to the theme of 80′s babies growing up too fast, with Section 8 housing suggested in the title. His highly-provoking rhymes essentially described an entire generation from a West Coast perspective. With Dr. Dre more than cosigning on Lamar, and even producing for him and appearing on XXL’s cover with him (for whatever that’s worth), Kendrick Lamar is primed for music industry stardom. Sure, a Demencha cosign doesn’t go quite as far as that of Dr. Dre, but we suggest you get your hands on “Good Kid M.A.D.D. City” any way you can on October 22nd.
