Jay-Z’s longtime DJ and producer, DJ Young Guru, is set to swing through Czar Bar in Kansas City, MO on November 7th (presented by Demencha, Guerrilla Movement and Electric City). Having only mixed 10 of Jay-Z’s 11 full-length studio albums, and holding rank as Jay-Z’s tour DJ since 2010, Guru is regarded as having the “midas touch” when it comes to putting out that crispy sound we’ve come to love from Jigga. He also did the mixing for Kanye West’s College Dropout and Little Brother’s Minstrel Show, among a slew of other chart-topping albums.
We’re not entirely sure what to expect from his DJ set at Czar on November 7th (we can’t find any online mixes from him at the moment), but the following quote from one member of The Roots gives us a bit of an idea…
