INTERVIEW: Dancer, J-Wizz, Breaks Down The Way We Move in KC Clubs by Demencha Magazine on Mixcloud

For Kansas Citians, it’s virtually impossible to roam throughout your life and not see J-Wizz Hathorn busting out his now notorious “popping” style of dance on street corners, in clubs and even in dance competitions all over the KC metro. His tall, slender frame lends itself perfectly to his unnatural dance movements, but as J-Wizz told us, popping has become second nature to him over his nearly 30 years of dancing experience.

In this interview, J-Wizz discussed his seasoned observations on the evolution of the way people dance to music, his favorite music to dance to, some of the more respected poppers in Kansas City, and much more. Hit play, and don’t fake the funk next time you try stepping to him in a circle.

Stream and/or download a couple of J’s recent dance competitions HERE.
