Welcome back. Lets get right into it.
The BET Awards Show
This award’s show brought the heat with the performances. G.O.O.D. Music lit the stage up with the biggest ass Lambo I’ve ever seen, and D’angelo marked his return the scene with an amazing performance. If you don’t have time to run through everything, definitely check those two out.
Santigold – “The Keepers”
Generally speaking, Santigold is always worth a look, and her latest contribution the the video world is no different. Her new album Masters of My Make Believe is out now.
Kanye West & Pusha T – “New God Flow”
As if there were any doubt about Kanye’s self image, “New God Flow” arrives to clear up any misunderstandings. Eccentricities aside, Kanye is one hell of an artist, it’s about time we all accept that. Stream “New God Flow”.
Theophilus London – “Rose Island Vol. 1″
Funny name, serious talent. Theo is making some really great shit recently, check out his new mixtape. Or don’t but I figure you’re reading this because you’ll heed my advice.
Summer Camp – “City”
Summer Camp had easily one of my favorite albums of last year with Welcome To Condale but it sounds like they’ve changed up their sound from a summery vibe to a darker city dankness. It’s still clad in 80′s shine and still sounds goddamn terrific. Always EP is due out this week.
Curren$y ft. Young Jeezy, Big K.R.I.T. & Lil Wayne – “Jet Life”
In a world full of delicious up and coming talent, Curren$y is far too often forgotten. But just when you start sleeping on him, he pumps out some smooth sounds like “Jet Life”. It’s got the whole gang on it too, but Curren$y kills his verse.
Childish Gambino – “Royalty”
Childish’s latest mixtape is less hip-pop ballad and more thug anthem/dirty beats. It’s easy to hear the effect Danny Brown has had on him. Don’t miss Tina Fey spitting on “Real Estate”.

Frank Ocean is Bisexual
This is huge news. Frank Ocean becomes the first up and coming hip-hop/r&b star to come out of the closet. Hip-Hop has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years, but has yet to fully embrace homosexuality, to have a big name like Frank Ocean bear his soul like this is moving, genuine, and exactly what the game needs. Read his open letter here. Haters need not apply.
John Legend ft. Pusha T – “Tonight (Remix)”
I forgot how much I loved a good John Legend joint. Leave it to G.O.O.D. Music to bring him back to us. I mean, goddammit the man has a golden voice box. Of course “Tonight” isn’t really a new track, but when Pusha growls- great things happen.
