Saturday Showcase #8

Another week, another batch of good shit thanks to the information age. Seriously though, if the internet was not around- what the fuck would I do all the time? Read a book? Fuck that shit, I wanna watch CGI gorillas dance.

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib ft. BJ The Chicago Kid – “Shameless”

File this one under, tracks wherein laid back flow is in an overabundance and chillness is at an all time high. Madlib rarely produces anything other than absolute gold, and Freddie Gibbs is either completely on point or completely wack. This time he’s on point. Listen up.

Kids These Days – “Flashing Lights”

This is, what, two weeks in a row that the young hotness that is Kids These Days have made the Saturday Showcase? Ok, I have a confession to make – pretty much anything those Kids put out is gonna make this list. But that’s because they’re goddamn fire. So shut up and download their take on Kanyeezy’s “Flashing Lights”.

RAC ft. Penguin Prison – “Hollywood”

If you were not aware, RAC make nearly perfect pop songs. In fact, they often mediocre or just OK pop songs and turn them into downright master pieces. Apparently they also team with up and coming hot shit artists to make nearly perfect pop songs. Again, shut up and listen/watch.

10 Best Star Slinger Remixes

I love Star Slinger, you should too. Familiarize yourself with his work. (Disclaimer: I wrote this article for PnP, so call it a shameless plug if you want, but it’s a good list. So also shut up)

Diplo – Express Yourself EP

There are really only two words that you need to know about this. Diplo + EP. By now you should have downloaded it.

Purity Ring – “Fineshrine”

Purity Ring is perhaps the artist that I am most excited about at any given point in time. If that is not true for you as well, then you are clearly not listening to their music correctly. And here’s a new one. So happy fucking birthday.

2 Chainz ft. Drake – “No Lie”

TWO CHAINZ! For our mainstream joint of the day, 2 Chainz enlists the help of Drizzy Drake for a track that sounds like, um, a 2 Chainz and Drake joint. Nothing more nothing less. No Lie.

Juicy J ft. Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz – “Bands A Make Her Dance”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnAugeNy2Js

Juicy J makes my heart glow. Juicy J + Weezy + 2 Chainz is like a convention of crazy, which can only mean good things.
