THIS.

It’s that time of year where Skillz (aka DJ Jazzy Jeff’s hypeman at the infamous P&L debacle) makes his latest “Rap Up” song, wherein he wraps up the year 2009 in rap form. I can’t identify what beat he chose for this year’s track, but I do know that he has a line that goes, “Man the game is bananas, for playin’ hip hop me and Jazzy Jeff got kicked out of Kansas.”
Oh no he didn’t…
Yes, he did….

you’re welcome!
Today is Christmas. I feel like I should post something with some kind of theme to this years Winter Wonderland. For those outside of KC reading this, I don’t know how much snow we got in KC today, it doesn’t matter (except to you snow-privy Alaskans and Colorado folk), but it’s bad enough that I’m not going anywhere tonight. I really do hate this weather. But thankfully, March and St. Patrick’s Day are only about two months away.
This morning, I had to call my sister to come pick me up from the apt. because I couldn’t get my car out of the garage due to an enormous snow drift in the middle of my driveway. She brought me back home at about 2:30 in the afternoon, after chilling with family, and surprise(!) – my driveway was clear!!!! Whoever’s soul was kind enough to do that (not everyone on my block got the same treatment), I owe you a $10 bill, for real.
And that, my friends, was probably the best present I got all day.
Just watch this video and remember that summertime is right around the corner. Fourth of July is still my favorite holiday anyway.

Local hip hop artist, James Christos premiered his latest, “Kill The Radio,” live at the Riot Room a couple of nights ago. When the song’s intro came in, most of the people in the crowd had looks on their faces as if to say, “Oh no he didn’t!” This is Christos’ bomb threat of sorts (not literally) directed at certain higher ups at KPRS Hot 103 Jamz, Kansas City’s main hip hop and r&b radio station. KPRS has made it abundantly clear in the past that they’re very picky about what local artists get spins on their station. I completely understand that a local FM radio station that would play local hip hop could be very beneficial to KC. I also understand that writing about it on a blog is really a waste of typing because Hot 103 is not going to change in their ways.
Regardless, Christos’ newest track would be incredibly entertaining to anyone who listens to Hot 103.
