I met Young Boss, along with a slew of other figures in KC’s rap scene, at the Taste of Troost Fest at 7th Heaven on the Fourth of July. He gave me one of his CDs, executive produced by “The 55th Street Legend” – Black Walt, called The Groovy Movement. It was probably the best CD I’d picked up all day at the event, and that’s saying something. One song on the record that caught my immediate attention was “Slowly.” The verses, particularly the freaky tales told by Infinity, make for a track that ditches romanctic themes for, um…a much more wild and provocative thesis. Memorable hook? Check. Fly ass beat knocked out of the park by up-and-coming producer, Church Boy? Check. DJs and local rap/hip hop supporters should download this and tell a friend. Oh yea, the CD that this song appaears on, The Groovy Movement, will get nationwide distribution through 101 Distibution on September 3rd!!
