This video was shot on Monday February 18th at the Embassy on Main (right next to Harlings and the old Recycled Sounds) at Heet Mob’s “Mic Check Mondays” open mic night which happens every Monday night. The featured rapper in this video goes by R.O.B., short for Reflection of Brilliance. We’re waiting on an album, dude.

This is a video I shot of A-Train beatboxing at the Peanut in downtown KCMO a couple of years ago. This night was live! A-Train won the Scribble Jam beatboxing battle a few years ago in Ohio, and his regurgitated beats were featured on MURS and Mac Lethal’s “Women of Scribble Jam” 12-inch. Hit up A-Train at http://www.myspace.com/atrain

Here are a few pictures from Coachella 2007. For more information on Coachella 2008 in Indio, CA check coachella.com, including a full lineup for this year’s event. Last year was a blast. But the only reason I would go back is if they brought Outkast.

This is a mix from KC legend, Chi-town native, DJ Shad, originally recorded back in December of 2007. The real goodness on this mix is the five old school Basement Khemists songs at the end. Classic Kansas City underground stuff right there. Shad’s got drops from Warren G on this mix, and it’s hosted by the “complete MC,” Les Izmore. You can catch Shad spinning at Zen (the old Grand Emporium) on Fridays and Karma in Westport on Saturdays. Be on the lookout for Shad to lock down some more weekly gigs very soon.
